It became part of the Commanderie hospitalière de Beaulieu in 1338.
After returning from the crusades in 1254, three knights are said to have found rest and healing here.
The three crosses in the town's coat of arms symbolise the crusaders' insignia, which each would have offered as a thank you to the hospitaliers.
A watercolour done in 1939, when the remains of this hospital still existed, gives an idea of its architecture, if it is even realistic...
