Tourism office classification in a nutshell
In 2017, the Tourist Offices of the Cuers, Collobrières, Pierrefeu du Var and La Londe les Maures intercommunality obtained category I classification for their intercommunal structure based at the Port de La Londe les Maures and for all tourist information offices. The new classification standards, dated November 12, 2010, replace the previous classification dating back to 1999.
Already in 2012, the La Londe les Maures municipal tourist office was one of the first tourist offices in the Var to obtain this new classification for category II, a renewal that testifies to its commitment and desire to provide ever more qualitative and congruent services.
This classification is a powerful lever for reinforcing the federating role of the Offices de Tourisme de France with regard to the tourism action to be developed in its geographical area of intervention.
The category I office has a reinforced team and deploys promotion on a national or international scale in a catchment area. It offers a wide range of services, develops a targeted promotional policy and has the tools to listen to customers and improve the quality of services provided.
There are 3 categories of tourist office classification, with category I representing the most demanding.
Classification is granted by prefectoral decree for a period of five years.
