Our Tourist Office has been approved for the Classification of Furnished Accommodation since 2011.
The classification is established from 1 to 5 stars.furnished accommodation are classified by decision of a classification body (approved or accredited organization) on the basis of national classification criteria relating to:
- Equipment and facilities (general layout, surface areas, bedrooms and bedding, sanitary facilities, kitchen, external environment, general condition and cleanliness)
- Guest services
- Accessibility and sustainable development
(Criteria set out in the decree of August 02, 2010 setting standards and procedures for the classification of furnished accommodation, modified by the decree of 24/11/2021).
The standards are based on a system of compulsory and optional points; the furnished accommodation must obtain at least 95% of the compulsory points for its category, and a number of optional points defined according to the category requested and the characteristics of the furnished accommodation.
Classification procedure
- The owner, or his representative, contacts the OTI by telephone, e-mail, or in person at the reception desk, and is invited to submit an application for classification to an approved or accredited organization, along with a description of the property (Demande de Classement Cerfa 11819*03). If the application is made at the reception desk, the rental guide is handed out. If the request is made by e-mail or telephone, a standard e-mail is sent.
- The inspection body makes an appointment with the rental company or its representative to arrange the visit. The reference list of 133 criteria isgiven to the rental company. Confirmation of the visit is sent by e-mail. The visit lasts between 1 and 3 hours. Once the visit has been completed, the OTI has 1 month to send the file to the owner in digital or paper format, along with the classification decision.
- The owner has 15 days from receipt of the inspection certificate to refuse the classification proposal. After this period, and in the absence of a refusal, classification is acquired for 5 years. The "Décision de Classement" can be used to inform authorities (tax authorities, etc.), customers, institutions, etc. of the classification
- Bodies responsible for inspecting furnished tourist accommodation are required to register classified properties in a national database.
Visits are limited to the premises for which classification is requested.
The visit is carried out as quickly as possible, and within 3 months at the latest.
Classification is not linked to a membership or marketing offer.
The OTI La Londe les Maures, Cuers, Collobrières, Pierrefeu du Var carries out visits and classifies furnished accommodation only in its area of competence, in the Mediterranean Porte des Maures.
Cost of classification file for a rental (for 5 years):
Rentals of less than 60 m²: €135
Rentals of 60 to - 150 m²: €175
Rentals over 150 m²: €245
Discounts applicable to several rentals located in the same commune for visits to the same rental company on the same day.
Rates include:
- classification of the furnished accommodation for 5 years
- travel on the day of the visit (within the defined territory)
- administrative follow-up and 1 Classification sticker (€5 per additional sticker)
- publication on the OTI, Var Tourisme, Région Sud and Côte d'Azur websites
- receipt of newsletters and other information relating to the furnished accommodation during the period of validity of the classification
