In the heart of the city centre, the Jardin des Oliviers is a haven of peace where young and old alike can enjoy themselves. Completely refurbished and accessible free of charge all year round, this park is a delight with its family-friendly spaces and its wealth of vegetation.
From the moment they enter, children can enjoy play areas and wide, safe paths, ideal for strolling, running or cycling in complete tranquillity. Families will also appreciate the many facilities on offer, including comfortable pathways and modern street furniture
As for nature, the park boasts a wide variety of Mediterranean species. Alongside the majestic century-old olive trees, emblems of the area, magnolias, arbutus trees, oaks, rosemary, irises, stipas and different varieties of cactus blossom, offering a sensory walk through fragrance and colour.
As for heritage, the remains of a Gallo-Roman wine press and a restored 18th-century oil mill bear witness to the importance of olive growing in the area.
In summer, the garden becomes a real place of life with its free open-air concerts every Tuesday in July and August: jazz, classical music, variety or folk... a convivial atmosphere to share with family or friends.
