Presentation
It is encircled by the Town Hall, built in 1861, and the Boulevard Lazare Carnot, a veritable Provençal courtyard lined with the beautiful homes of cork manufacturers.
On the day of the Liberation, 15 August 1944, all the villagers gathered there to express their joy.
On 20 August, General de Lattre de Tassigny addressed the population from the balcony of the Town Hall after his troops had liberated Collobrières.
To celebrate the liberation and the putting of water into the village, a big festival is organised there every year, on the Sunday closest to 15 August. A giant aioli is served and rosé wine is poured into the fountain for the occasion.
