Clean Ports" certification in a nutshell
Clean Harbors" certification is the only European AFAC AFNOR certification specifically for marinas.
Clean Harbors is the first AFAQ AFNOR "Clean Harbors", CWA and European agreement-certified environmental port management program for marinas.
"Clean Ports" is a voluntary initiative on the part of marina managers, more and more of whom are becoming aware of the need to participate in environmental management.
The initiative was prompted by the fact that thousands of tonnes of toxic waste are generated by harbour activities: batteries, oils, solvents, paints, etc., as well as the presence of careening water, wastewater and rainwater discharged into these harbours.
The Clean Harbors approach is the solution for ensuring appropriate management of these areas, using methods and tools that meet environmental challenges.
Certification is issued for a period of 3 years, with maintenance audits scheduled every year.
