The "Remarkable Garden" label in a nutshell
The "Remarkable Garden" label was created thanks to proposals from the Conseil National des Parcs et Jardins, a new institution within the French Ministry of Culture and Communication since May 2003.
The label is awarded to gardens whose design, plants and upkeep are of a remarkable standard, whether private or public, and whether or not they are protected as monuments or sites.
This national label is awarded for a period of 5 years on the recommendation of regional commissions set up under the aegis of the Directions régionales des affaires culturelles (D.R.A.C.).
