The "Remarkable Garden" label in a few words
The "Remarkable Garden" label was established thanks to the proposals of the National Council for Parks and Gardens, a new institution within the Ministry of Culture and Communication since May 2003.
It indicates to the general public gardens whose design, plants and maintenance are of a remarkable level, whether they are private or public, protected or not as monuments or sites.
This national label is awarded for a period of 5 years on the proposal of regional commissions formed under the aegis of the Regional Directorates of Cultural Affairs (D.R.A.C.).
Who can be awarded the "Remarkable Garden" label?
The "Remarkable Garden" label is awarded by the French Ministry of Culture to gardens that are open to the public and of cultural, aesthetic, historical or botanical interest, and whose purpose is not essentially commercial.
