Le Rouay de la Cabre or "the valley of the goat", a former stopping place for goats and sheep, describing an ancient agricultural activity.
A route through the Maures massif, where vines and olive trees mingle in this valley, replacing the herds that no longer exist.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION:
- Start from the car park at the entrance to the Vallon de Tamary, on the Valcros road.

COURSE:
Cross a gate, follow trail B98, leaving trail B104 on the left (return trail).
Go along the stream on the right near the Tamary wine estate, Canadian crossing. Go over a bridge with the stream now on the left until you reach a crossroads.
Opposite a building and a Tamary B98 sign. Ignore the track on the right, follow the track slightly to the left, note the red and white barrier which must be raised (in the event of closure make a U-turn as massif prohibited). Continue until you cross the stream again and start to climb on a wider track
At a sharp left bend, note an LMS11 tank on the right. At the next right-hand bend, 40 m further on, leave the wide track and take the stony path opposite.

At the first crossroads ignore the bridleway and continue straight up, until you reach a junction at the top of the hill. The slope is steep. Here you can see tree heathers, rockroses, rosemary and asphodel.

At a clear spot, turn left onto the Notre Dame des Maures B51 track.
At this junction, note the "Gaoutabry Dolmen" sign on the right (to visit this site, take a small path on the right, which climbs up to the site in a few minutes).
Also note an LMS12 cistern on the right; opposite leave the B51 track.
Take the steep, hairpin bend La Valletane B104 track on the left.
This track skirts around the "Signal du Favanquet" summit on the left, the rocks of which can be seen.

At this junction, ignore the track on the right; go alongside a pond on the right and continue straight ahead.
Arrive near the LMS03 cistern on the left. Take the track on the left down to the Valcros road and the car park.
On the left is a forest planted by La Londe schoolchildren in 1986 (stele).

- Bring sun cream and water.
Always keep informed about the weather conditions. During the hunting season, stay on the marked trails. In an emergency, call 112 for help. Traffic and parking of all motorised vehicles on DFCI roads is prohibited all year round. From June to September, before driving in the Var mountain ranges, check the opening conditions on the fire risk map (updated at 5pm every day for the following day) or by calling the tourist office.
