The "Handiplage" label in a nutshell
The Handiplage label, represented by the Handiplage association, aims to provide reliable, objective information on the accessibility of beaches, taking into account all types of disability, and to enable the development of the tourist offer on label beaches.
Each certified beach is awarded a level of certification ranging from 1 to 4 (4 being the highest level), depending on the facilities offered, such as: swimming aids, access mats to the water, GIG/GIC parking spaces, accessible toilets and showers, adapted walkways, sun shelters, etc
The label is awarded by the association for a period of 5 years.
Who can obtain the "Handiplage" label?
All beaches and lakeside areas wishing to offer their users a high level of quality in terms of the accessibility of their natural areas, the aim being to make swimming a moment of relaxation and pleasure for all.
There is an application fee.
Who is eligible for the "Handiplage" label?
The "Handiplage" label is aimed at people with disabilities who wish to enjoy swimming, but who have hearing, mental, motor or visual difficulties, as well as people with temporary disabilities and the elderly. The people who accompany disabled people are concerned by this label and often know about it.

Handiplage" beaches on intercommunal territory
La Londe les Maures was awarded the Handiplage label for its three beaches in August 2013.
The municipality's beaches were awarded level 1 status in 2023.
