This fountain, located in Place Général De Gaulle, was built by Duthoit in 1809. At the time of the Restoration, an eagle topped the pyramid, which was then taken down. A washhouse was built around 1870. In 1892, a cockerel was placed at the top; the current cockerel was only cast in 1963 by Roussel at the NAS in Cuers. A new pyramid was installed in 1977 by the sculptor Combaz. The wash-house was demolished in 1986. The fountain was restored in 1987 and only the Cassis stone surround is original, the other elements having been replaced in turn.
