The law "for equal rights and opportunities, participation and citizenship of disabled people" of 11 February 2005 brings fundamental changes to meet the expectations of disabled people. There are approximately 12 million people with disabilities in France, i.e. 18% of the population.
If you want to buy a property to rent out or if you want to renovate your rental property, you can improve the quality of life of people with disabilities by equipping your furnished property, if it is on one level, easily and inexpensively. Fitting out the main part of your interior means fitting out the living room, kitchen, bedroom, shower room and WC, with access doors at least 80 cm wide, door thresholds less than 2 cm...
Furnished accommodation that is currently equipped to accommodate people with reduced mobility may even be eligible for :
- the Var Accessible qualification set up by the Var department to enhance the value of specifically equipped private reception facilities,
- the "Tourism & Handicap" mark, a quality mark for the reception of people with disabilities, created by the Ministry of Tourism. It identifies the accessibility of holiday, leisure or cultural venues for people who need adaptations for the main deficiencies (hearing, mental, motor, visual).
The disabled clientele represents a real potential; this clientele will distinguish the quality of your accommodation and your welcome.
