An internationally renowned site for yachtsmen, divers and sea lovers, the island is also known for its Institut Océanographique Paul Ricard, which houses an aquarium.

Preserved from concrete and favoring soft means of transport, the island is a veritable treasure trove of greenery and wild coves, home to 90% of Mediterranean plant species and a haven for birds.
The Embiez archipelago has been classified as a Natura 2000 zone.
The Natura 2000 network is a group of European natural sites, on land and at sea, identified for the rarity or fragility of wild animal or plant species and their habitats. Natura 2000 reconciles nature conservation and socio-economic concerns. In France, the Natura 2000 network comprises 1,758 sites.

No deckchairs or bars on the island's coves and beaches!
8 main beaches and coves line this little jewel of the Mediterranean, but one cove can lead to another, so there's nothing to stop you discovering your own secret spot deep in the rocks.
Each more wild and unspoilt than the last, there's something for everyone: small, sheltered, in the rocks... you'll always find crystal-clear water.
The setting is idyllic, and it doesn't take long to feel like Robin Crusoe on a desert island. Les Embiez is rarely crowded, even at the height of the season, so it's easy to find a secluded spot.
Beware, however, that some coves have to be earned, so take care when descending the paths.
