9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.: Sea kayaking tour – Garonne Beach (registration required)
Join the Pradet Kayak Club for a three-hour guided tour. This outing is open to families and beginners alike (ages 5 and up).
2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.: The Biodiversity Village – Espace des Arts
All afternoon, the Espace des Arts will host a true “biodiversity village,” where scientists, organizations, and educators will offer interactive activities!
- The Port-Cros National Park eco-guides will kick things off with activities and quizzes on the region’s terrestrial and marine ecosystems.
- The Neptune project will let you enjoy an immersive experience using virtual reality headsets that will take you on a dive to the shipwrecks of the Donator and the Arroyo.
- The Totem association will offer an original escape room experience centered on a rarely discussed question: what should you do when you find an injured wild animal?
- The Forêt Modèle de Provence association will invite you to discover the riches of our Mediterranean forests through sensory workshops, games to identify flora and fauna, and more!
- The science educators from Chercheurs en Herbe will invite you to uncover the secrets of interactions between species. They’ll also offer workshops focused on pollinators, complete with microscope observations!
2:00 PM – 5:00 PM: Nature Walk - Les Oursinières - Pas des Gardéens, Colle Noire Massif (registration required)
Led by botanist Emmanuelle Chevalier, come discover the amazing defense strategies of Mediterranean plants or take a journey back in time through the history of their evolution.
6:00 PM – 8:00 PM: Film screening and discussion “The Reserve Effect in the Mediterranean” – Espace des Arts
The day will conclude with a screening of the documentary “The Reserve Effect in the Mediterranean,” presented by the Galathea Festival in partnership with the association Les P’Tits Écrans for this event held in Le Pradet. The screening will be followed by a discussion with the audience about the benefits of marine protected areas and the challenges of preserving biodiversity in the Mediterranean.
The result of a close partnership between the Port-Cros National Park and the town of Le Pradet, this event highlights their shared commitment to preserving and promoting natural heritage. Organized in collaboration with CIETM (Collectif d’Initiatives pour l’Environnement du Territoire des Maures), Var Nat, the Pradet Kayak Club (CKP), the Pradet Aquabulles Diving Club, the Pradet Diving Center, the Un Aquarium Baie de la Garonne association, and the Galathea Festival, the event offers a program rich in discoveries, experiences, and encounters for people of all ages.
